F&Q : Brow Lamination & Tint

WHAT IS A BROW LAMINATION?

Brow Lamination is a process in which the brow hair is restructured and styled according to the desired outcome. It can give brows more volume, fluff and definition. It accentuates the natural brow shape by repositioning the hair, creating a fuller and well-groomed appearance. They are also moveable, meaning you need to brush the brows in place each morning.

WILL A BROW LAMINATION DAMAGE MY BROWS?

No, as long as you follow proper aftercare, your brows will remain healthy.

HOW LONG WILL A BROW LAMINATION LAST?

Results can last up to 6–8 weeks with proper aftercare and depending on the client's natural hair growth cycle.

CAN I WAX MY BROWS?

Within 5 days before or after a lamination, we cannot perform a brow wax. The products for the lamination and wax combined can cause the skin to be sensitive and can cause skin irritation.

CAN I USE BROW SOAP?

Absolutely! Using gentle brow soap is a great way to extend your brow lamination. It will help to keep your brows in their new shape.

CAN I WORKOUT OR SWIM AFTER?

Wait 24 hrs before doing any activities involving water or sweating. After that, absolutely! Just brush your brows in place afterward.

WHO IS NOT SUITED FOR A BROW LAMINATION?

  • It is important not to proceed with an appointment if sick. It is important we don't risk transmission of pathogens.

  • Psoriasis, eczema, alopecia, sunburn, ultra-sensitive skin, wounds or scar tissue in the treatment area, infection, pimples in the treatment area are not recommended for this treatment.

  • If you've had microblading, shading or powdered brows, clients must wait a minimum of 6–8 weeks after the procedure to get a brow lamination. The brow area must be completely healed.

  • Exfoliating skin treatments (such as facials and laser facials), and skin products such as retinol, AHA, BHA, or accutane. As these will cause the skin to regenerate quickly. Clients must wait 4 weeks minimum after their skin treatments or follow the recommendation of their dermatologist/aesthetician, or if you're using accutane which affects the skin, you must wait 12 months before proceeding with a brow lamination.

  • Not all hair types are suitable for this chemical process. It is not suitable for clients with chemically damaged hair, as it can damage it further. Curly hair consists of more disulfide bonds than straight hair. The lift serum may not be able to break and reform all the disulfide bonds, resulting in unpredictable results.

  • It is not recommended to do a brow lamination if you have had henna brows done in the last 8 weeks.

CAN I GET A BROW LAMINATION WHILE PREGNANT?

Research on how lash lifts affect pregnant or breastfeeding people has not been done by the industry to know how this can affect the baby.

Hormones fluctuate during pregnancy and can continue to do so during breast-feeding. The skin is usually more sensitive during this period, and the composition in the hair can change as well. Brow lamination would not be suitable, as it can cause irritation or injury to the sensitized skin, and results are very unpredictable due to the change in hair.
